This law firm intends to adress to all film, music
and IT-business professionals, such as film production companies,
dvd and video producers, record labels, music publishers, musicians,
composers, distribution companies, authors, directors, actors, marketing
agencies, web designers, software distributors, legal aspects of
German law, particularly the copyright law. I am committed to providing
our clients with legal services of the highest quality in an era
of rapid change of European and German law. The main business is
the negotiation of contracts and rights, including rights clearance
and, if necessary, the pursuit of copyright infringement actions.
There is specialised knowledge and understanding of the film, music
and online business, because of several stints as legal and business
affairs manager in such firms.
Andrés Heyn is admitted to the Hamburg law bar since 1989 as an Attorney-at-law. In 1990 he worked at the australian branch of KPMG Peat Marwick and thereafter he joined Sony Music Entertainment (Germany) Gmbh as a legal and business affair manager, where he was also involved in anti-piracy claims and fair-trade laws either. As of 1992 he joined Polygram GmbH. In 1993 he was hired by leading independent record company "edel" Gesellschaft für Produktmarketing GmbH as a head of business affairs. There he was responsible for recording contracts with artists like “The Artist formerly known as Prince", Scooter, Fun Factory, Kelly Family and established a world-wide network of licensor´s and licensee´s for "edel".
He returned to PolyGram GmbH in 1995 and advised Motor Music GmbH including the "Urban" dance label (e.g. Rammstein, Element of Crime, U 96, Robert Miles, Nana Mark Oh´, Westbam, DJ Sammy ) and PolyGram Film Entertainment bzw. Filmproduktion GmbH übernahm. As of 1997 he served as head of business affairs for the film, video and television business of PolyGram resp. Universal Pictures Germany GmbH and worked on films like “Shooting Fish", “Kurz und Schmerzlos", “Gloomy Sunday". There he also achieved specialised knowledge of the German film subsidy laws and regulations.
He started his freelance work in July 1999 and provides his clients with specialist skills to cover the widest range of legal work for firms and professionals throughout the area of media, entertainment and creative arts.
